Challenge

Backed by a high-calibre board of Directors and investors Fireworx were approached to support the marketing of Zestec due to prior experience with both fast growing and ambitious brands, who were disrupting their respective markets and specifically in the energy sector.

The challenge was to help better define the sales and marketing approach aligned to achieving their growth plans, the objectives were, to be recognised as the leader in the solar roof-top market plan the engagement with partners to maximise opportunity and understand which part of the market they should deploy sales resources within.

Actions

The initial 50,000-foot view is we needed to understand the competitor landscape more intricately as the barriers are likely to come from the proliferation of new entrants.

Fireworx started with a strategic brand and marketing workshop with the key stakeholders from the team. During the session it was clear that Zestec had several areas of differentiation;

  • The UK’s leading solar roof top business with heritage and longevity – reassuring for organisations looking to sign 15 – 25-year contract terms.
  • Prove they have delivered projects end-to-end across multiple sectors and regions in the UK, from concept through to delivery, assuring clients are choosing a credible business.
  • They work in partnership with the UK’s leading installers of scale solar arrays – installation partners go through a rigorous process to ensure they meet the required standards (Octopus EGEN PPQ)
  • They have innovative financial solutions that can support any business to reduce energy costs – Critical in the business energy market.

From running the workshop Fireworx identified a number of key actions centred around developing a value proposition that helped Zestec define what they did and why, and stand out from its competitors, then to implement this across all assets and communications.

We also developed a set of marketing KPIs that would help them track progress, ROI and performance against targets, and agreed what role marketing needed to play as part of the lead generation activity and the priority for it to focus on, both direct marketing campaigns and brand awareness.

Fireworx developed a new value proposition for Zestec – ‘The power to make a difference’ it reflected their unique position as a team of experts in the industry since 2010, with the backing of one of the largest renewables operators in Europe, providing fully funded renewable solutions to commercial clients in ways that others simply can’t. Helping both commercial and industrial businesses, as well as through their partners they can help them adopt renewable energy in a way that makes a positive difference to businesses and the planet.

Using a fresh and zesty new colour palette we dialled into the ‘energy’ at the centre of the Zestec offering. Using neon glows and taking inspiration from the ‘electric’ logo mark we created a new brand identity and visual language.

From all new marketing collateral to a new website, videography, photography and copy we have totally refreshed the Zestec look and feel.

Supporting digital and social media marketing we are driving more leads to support their growth ambitions.
